# Sameday vs Avoca: Two AI Front Offices, Only One Published Price

Updated **November 2026**7 min readHVAC · Plumbing · Home services

Quick Verdict

**Sameday and Avoca sell nearly the same idea, so the real differences are price visibility and shape.** Both call themselves the AI front office for home services, and both have a call-scoring product called Coach. Sameday publishes plans from $449 a month and runs your phone system inside its platform. Avoca publishes no pricing and leads with proof from multi-brand call centers. If you want your calls answered without adopting a front-office platform at all, dolfyn builds a receptionist around the business you already run, from $179/month.

Key Takeaways

Sameday publishes $449/month for 500 minutes and $789/month for 1,000 minutes, and puts your phone system, your team and its AI in one platform. Avoca publishes no pricing; third-party figures start around $1,100/month for 1,000 minutes plus a $600 setup fee. Avoca's strongest proof is at multi-brand scale, such as Granite Comfort moving nine call centers into one. Sameday lists more field service software, including Jobber. dolfyn is the done-for-you option for businesses that want calls answered around the software they already run, from $179/month, month to month.

## What each product actually is

**Sameday** describes itself as the AI front office for home services. AI agents, your CSRs, your technicians and your seats all live in one system, and the phone layer itself runs inside Sameday, with numbers, routing, voicemail and call history in the platform. It handles inbound and overflow calls, outbound calls, texts in a shared thread, booking into your schedule, campaigns for reactivation and estimate follow-up, and a Coach product that scores every call, human or AI. It was founded in 2022 by Aaron Cooper and Max Forsey, who came from home service operations, and it says thousands of trades businesses run on it, with logos including Aptive, Fox Pest Control and Bill Howe Plumbing.

**Avoca** calls itself the AI front office for service businesses. Its Convert product calls, texts, chats and books around the clock and escalates emergencies to an on-call tech, Nurture runs drip follow-up over text and calls, and Coach scores your team's calls. It also sells Speed-to-Lead, a direct Google Local Services connection, a simple scheduler and web chat. Avoca says it has raised more than $125 million across its Seed, Series A and Series B rounds at a $1 billion valuation, announced in April 2026, with backers including Kleiner Perkins, Meritech and General Catalyst.

The core difference
Sameday wants to be the system your phones run on, and it shows you the price first. Avoca sells AI agents and an inbox into larger operations, and you get a price from sales.

## Where they differ

**Price visibility.** This is the clearest gap. A shop owner can read Sameday's plans and work out a budget before talking to anyone. Avoca's pricing page returns a 404, so every Avoca number in circulation comes from someone other than Avoca.

**Shape of the product.** Sameday puts the phone system, seats, queues and routing in the platform, so choosing it can mean moving your phones. Avoca's site leads with AI agents, an omnichannel inbox and lead-source connections, and it also claims SOC 2 compliance, which matters more to larger operators.

**Who the proof comes from.** Avoca's named case studies skew multi-brand. Granite Comfort, a private equity backed group of nine brands, went from nine call centers to one and dropped nine after-hours vendors. Sameday courts enterprise too, with a page for multi-location brands and franchises, but it also says smaller shops can start self-serve, and it lists trades like cleaning, locksmiths and landscaping alongside HVAC and plumbing.

**Software coverage.** Sameday lists ServiceTitan as a certified app, plus Jobber, Housecall Pro, FieldRoutes, Service Fusion, AccuLynx, JobNimbus and Maid Central. Avoca lists ServiceTitan as a certified app, plus Housecall Pro and FieldRoutes. Avoca's own help page notes that Housecall Pro's public API does not support some cancellations, so dispatchers have to finish those by hand. If you run Jobber, confirm the depth of the connection with either vendor before you sign.

## Pricing reality

Sameday's Launch plan starts at $449 a month with 500 minutes and three locations, and Scale starts at $789 a month with 1,000 minutes and multiple locations. Enterprise is custom. That works out to about $0.90 a minute on Launch and $0.79 on Scale. Overage is billed at your plan's per-minute or per-message rate, and the rate itself is not published. Setup fees, contract length and any free trial are not stated on the page.

Avoca publishes nothing. Upfirst, a competitor, reported in August 2026, based on customers and leads who had shopped both, that Avoca's full AI plans start around $1,100 a month for 1,000 minutes with $1.15 per extra minute, run up to about $3,500 a month for 5,000 minutes, and carry a $600 setup fee, with no free trial. Treat those as third-party figures and get a written quote.

At 1,000 minutes a month, that puts Sameday at $789 and Avoca at about $1,100 before setup, if the third-party figures hold. dolfyn starts at $179/month, priced to your call volume before you go live, month to month.

Choose Sameday if you want to see the price before a demo, want one system for your phones and your team, or work outside HVAC and plumbing. Choose Avoca if you run several brands or call centers on ServiceTitan and want to consolidate them. If you are happy with your phones and your software and simply want calls answered well, neither platform is the obvious fit.

## The third option: built for you

Both of these products ask your team to run something new. dolfyn takes the opposite approach: we build a team of specialist agents around one business, an intake agent routes each caller to the right specialist, and it connects through custom API integration to what you already run, including ServiceTitan, Jobber and Housecall Pro when your plan opens the API. AI checks every call, our team reviews calls daily, and a person makes every fix.

Plans start at $179/month, priced to your call volume before you go live, month to month, with a 2-week free trial on your real calls and no credit card.

The short version
Sameday gives you a platform with a price on it, Avoca gives you enterprise proof and a quote, and dolfyn builds the receptionist around what you already have.
