# Probook vs Broccoli AI: Which Bottleneck Do You Actually Have?

Updated **November 2026**6 min readHVAC · Plumbing · Home services

Quick Verdict

**Probook and Broccoli AI work on different parts of the same day.** Broccoli answers the phone, books jobs and sells, while Probook takes over after the job is booked and runs the dispatch board. Probook does not claim to answer calls with AI, so the choice depends on where your bottleneck sits. If calls and leads are slipping, look at Broccoli. If dispatch is what limits you across a lot of technicians, look at Probook. If you are not at that scale and just want the phone handled, dolfyn builds a receptionist around your business from $179/month.

Key Takeaways

Probook calls itself the AI dispatcher for home services: it cleans up bookings, assigns technicians and reshuffles the board in real time, with $40M raised from a16z and Sequoia. Broccoli AI sells named AI agents for calls, sales and QA, with $52M raised across Series A and B led by Khosla Ventures. Neither publishes pricing. Probook only evidences ServiceTitan, while Broccoli also names Housecall Pro, AccuLynx and Salesforce. A large operator could reasonably run both. dolfyn handles the phone side for businesses that want it built for them, from $179/month.

## What each product actually is

**Probook** describes itself as the AI dispatcher for home services and says it is the only AI built around dispatch. It cleans up bookings using equipment age, job data and your rules, assigns technicians from historical data and reshuffles the board as the day changes, passing exceptions to your human dispatchers. It also keeps customers informed with live arrival windows and delay notices, and handles cancellations and reschedules. The company says it has raised $40M from a16z and Sequoia. Its named customers include Del-Air, Peterman Brothers and Anthony.

**Broccoli AI** sells a lineup of named AI agents. Dane, the AI CSR, answers calls and books jobs, Amy greets and transfers callers, and others handle sales, open estimates, appointment reminders, memberships and more, with a QA layer that reviews calls and coaches your CSRs. It went through Y Combinator's Winter 2022 batch, announced $52M across Series A and B led by Khosla Ventures in October 2026, and says it serves 1,500-plus businesses, from $2M in revenue up to its largest enterprises.

The core difference
Broccoli works on getting the job booked. Probook works on getting the right technician to it. We found no AI phone answering claimed on Probook's own site.

## Where they differ

**The job each one does.** A shop losing calls after hours has a front-office problem, which is what Broccoli addresses. A shop with plenty of booked work and a dispatch team stretched thin has a different problem, and Probook points to Del-Air, which says it went from 22 dispatchers across eight locations to a central team of 10, with about 90% of jobs dispatched automatically.

**Who it reaches.** Broccoli's homepage groups customers from $2M in revenue up to its largest enterprises. Probook talks about larger shops and private equity backed platforms, and its case studies are centralized dispatch operations. A shop with five technicians has little for an AI dispatcher to optimize.

**Software.** Broccoli names ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, AccuLynx and Salesforce, plus lead sources like Google Local Services, Yelp, Angi and Thumbtack. Probook's own site names no integrations, and its partner listing on the ServiceTitan marketplace is the only one we could confirm, so if you run anything else, ask first.

**Where they overlap.** Broccoli has an Autofill Board agent, and Probook handles two-way customer messaging around appointments, so the edges are starting to touch. Probook's own materials also mention intake, without describing an AI phone agent. Ask each vendor what it does today rather than what is on the roadmap.

## Pricing reality

Neither company publishes pricing. Probook offers only a demo, and we found no plan, contract or trial details on its site or its ServiceTitan marketplace listing.

Broccoli's pricing page returns a 404. Upfirst, a competitor, reported in August 2026 that Broccoli's plans included about $950 a month for 1,000 minutes with $0.90 per extra minute, about $1,950 for 2,400 minutes at $0.80, a custom top tier, and an outbound add-on around $1,000 a month, on six-month terms that renew automatically unless you give 21 days' notice. Treat those as third-party figures and get a written quote.

Because these products do different jobs, the comparison that matters is against what each one replaces: Broccoli against CSR hours and missed calls, and Probook against dispatcher headcount.

If you are losing calls or leads, evaluate Broccoli. If your dispatchers are the limit across many technicians and locations, evaluate Probook. A large operator could reasonably buy both, since one feeds the other. If you are a smaller shop, the phone is almost always the first thing to fix, and you may not need either platform to fix it.

## The third option: built for you

dolfyn does not run your dispatch board, so it is no replacement for Probook. It handles the phone, for businesses that want that done for them without adopting a platform. We build a team of specialist agents around one business, an intake agent routes each caller, and urgent calls reach your on-call people the way you want them handled. It connects through custom API integration to what you already run, including ServiceTitan, Jobber and Housecall Pro when your plan opens the API.

AI checks every call, our team reviews calls daily, and a person makes every fix. Plans start at $179/month, priced to your call volume before you go live, month to month, with a 2-week free trial on your real calls and no credit card.

The short version
Probook runs the board, Broccoli runs the front office, and dolfyn builds the receptionist around the software you already have.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the difference between Probook and Broccoli AI?

Probook is an AI dispatcher: it cleans up bookings, assigns technicians and reshuffles the board. Broccoli AI sells AI agents that answer calls, book jobs, follow up on sales and review calls. They work on different parts of the job, so they are not direct substitutes.

### Does Probook answer phone calls?

Probook's own site does not claim AI phone answering. It describes dispatch and customer messaging such as arrival windows, delay notices, cancellations and reschedules. Its materials mention intake without describing an AI phone agent, so confirm with Probook if you need calls answered.

### How much do Probook and Broccoli AI cost?

Neither publishes pricing. Upfirst, a competitor, reported Broccoli plans of about $950 a month for 1,000 minutes and $1,950 a month for 2,400 minutes, with six-month auto-renewing terms. We found no Probook pricing. dolfyn starts at $179/month, priced to your call volume.

### Can you use Probook and Broccoli AI together?

They address different problems, so a large operator could run both, one on the phones and one on the board. Check how each connects to your field service software first, since ServiceTitan is the only system we could confirm for Probook.

### Which should a smaller shop start with?

Usually the phone, because a missed call costs you the job before dispatch ever matters. dolfyn builds a custom AI receptionist around your business from $179/month, month to month, with daily human review and a 2-week free trial.
