# Broccoli AI vs Avoca AI: Which One Fits, and When Neither Does

dolfyn Editorial

AI voice agents and call handling for service businesses.

Quick Verdict

**Broccoli AI and Avoca AI are both enterprise AI platforms for home services.** Broccoli segments its own customers by revenue starting at $2M and sells a suite of named AI agents. Avoca raised $125M at a $1B valuation and its flagship case study is a PE-backed operator running nine brands. Neither publishes pricing. A multi-location ServiceTitan operation should evaluate both. A business that wants something built around it, rather than a platform to learn, is in a different category, covered at the end.

Key Takeaways

Broccoli AI and Avoca AI are the two most funded AI phone platforms in home services. Broccoli is a YC-backed suite of named AI agents (CSR, receptionist, sales, QA) aimed at ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro shops from $2M revenue up. Avoca is an AI front office platform (Convert, Nurture, Coach) whose showcase deployment replaced nine call centers for a PE-backed operator. Neither publishes pricing; as of mid-2025, Broccoli plans ran $950 to $2,950 a month. Both are platforms you onboard to. For businesses that want the opposite, an agent custom-built around how they already work, dolfyn starts at $179/month.

## What each platform actually is

Broccoli AI is a Y Combinator-backed platform selling what it calls AI agents for trades businesses. The lineup is a cast of named agents: an AI CSR that books jobs in ServiceTitan, an AI receptionist that greets callers and transfers them, sales agents for tune-up and inspection campaigns, follow-up specialists for open estimates, and a QA layer that reviews every call and scores your human team. It also answers leads from Google LSA, Yelp, Angi, and Thumbtack within seconds. Broccoli's own homepage segments customers into $2-10M, $10-50M, and $50M+ revenue bands, with a fourth tier for operations with 10 or more locations.

Avoca AI calls itself the AI front office for service businesses. The platform has three products: Convert answers every call, text, and chat and books jobs around the clock; Nurture runs outbound drip campaigns across SMS and calls; Coach scores every call and surfaces missed opportunities for managers. Avoca raised $125M at a $1B valuation in April 2026 and says it runs across hundreds of home services front offices. Its showcase case study is Granite Comfort, a private-equity-backed HVAC and plumbing operator that collapsed nine call centers into one on Avoca.

The shared DNA
Strip the branding and the two pitches converge: a platform of AI agents replacing or augmenting a call center, aimed at operations big enough to have one. That is the buyer both are built for.

## Where Broccoli and Avoca differ

Broccoli goes wider on the agent lineup. Sales campaigns, membership renewals, estimate follow-ups, appointment reminders, and speed-to-lead response are all separate agents you can switch on. If your board goes quiet and you want AI working outbound, Broccoli has more machinery for it. Its case study of choice is a 900% jump in weekend bookings for a ServiceTitan shop.

Avoca goes deeper on replacing the call center itself. Coach is a full QA product, scoring every call and coaching human CSRs, and its enterprise deployments include a human-in-the-loop layer. Avoca is also the one with the billion-dollar valuation and the private-equity case studies, which tells you who it is selling to: platforms consolidating multiple brands and locations into one operation.

## Pricing reality

Neither company has a public pricing page. We checked both directly in September 2026: broccoli.com/pricing and avoca.ai/pricing each return a 404. Avoca quotes custom pricing per deployment, and third-party reviews in 2026 describe it as scoped by usage, seats, and contract length. You need a sales call to learn either number.

For Broccoli, we can be more specific. As of mid-2025, Broccoli's inbound plans ranged from $950 to $2,950 a month depending on included minutes (1,000 to 4,000), with overage billed at $0.75 to $0.90 a minute after that, and enterprise pricing above the range on customized minutes. Outbound ran as a separate add-on around $1,000 a month, and plans carried a 6-month subscription that auto-renews unless cancelled at least 21 days before the term ends. Pricing may have moved since, and Broccoli publishes nothing current, but that is the scale of spend involved.

Run the seasonal math on the entry tier. At three-minute average calls, 1,000 minutes is about 330 calls. A heat-wave month with 400 calls runs about 1,200 minutes: $950 plus roughly $180 in overage, with the meter still running. dolfyn starts at $179 a month, scoped to your call volume before you go live, month to month, and the rate does not change during surge periods.

What that means in practice
A price you cannot see before a demo is a price built for a negotiated enterprise deal. That is not a criticism, it is the market both companies chose. But if you run a five-truck shop, you are not the buyer that pricing model was designed around.

We have seen this play out directly. One dolfyn client came to us from Broccoli. The pricing structure ran higher than they expected for what they were actually using, so we built them a custom plan around the parts of the job they needed and nothing more.

If you run a ServiceTitan shop doing a few million a year and want AI working outbound sales and estimate follow-up, Broccoli is the more natural evaluation. If you are consolidating call centers across locations or brands, that is exactly the deployment Avoca showcases. Both deserve a demo if you are that buyer.

## The third option: custom instead of platform

The Broccoli-vs-Avoca comparison hides a bigger question: do you want a platform at all?

With either one, you get onboarded, you learn their system, and you use the slice of it your business actually needs. The features you never open are still part of what you are paying for, and part of what you had to learn your way around.

dolfyn works the other way around. Every agent is built from scratch for one business: your call flow, your emergency protocols, your intake questions, connected to the tools you already run, whether that is ServiceTitan, Jobber, Monday.com, Buildium, or a spreadsheet. There is no platform to learn, because the system mirrors how you already work. One client's build phones the on-call tech for after-hours emergencies and moves down the list until someone answers. Another routes leads into Monday.com and tenant issues into Buildium. No two builds are the same, because no two businesses are.

And custom does not mean small. If your operation genuinely needs a full front-office suite, multiple agents with department routing, outbound follow-ups, workflow automation, we build that too. The difference is what you pay for: exactly what your business needs, and nothing else. No feature shelf you will never open, no platform to learn your way around.

Plans start at $179 a month, scoped to your call volume before you go live. Month to month, and the 2-week free trial runs on your real calls with no credit card. Real people review the calls every day.

The short version
Broccoli and Avoca are platforms you adopt. dolfyn is an agent built around you. Pick based on which of those your business actually needs.
